History Beliefs Mission Pastors Team Questions
New Life Church had its first service on December 2, 2003, with Alex and Tanya Klimchuk and two other families who were radical and on fire for God. About 20 people altogether came to the first service. On October 2, 2005, we made a decision to move forward and fulfill our God-given vision to reach out with the Message of Jesus to the whole city of Sioux Falls and beyond.
Some parts of our vision have been realized. Other parts are now coming into manifestation. But much of the vision remains to be prayed out and walked out. Each week more and more individuals are becoming part of the exciting and close-knit family at New Life Church. Our history has just started and we will let somebody else write about us in the future, but now New Life is moving forward to accomplish our assignment. The calling cannot be completed without you.
It is our mission to:
We are here to encourage and equip people to become fully functioning followers of Jesus Christ.

Alex was born in Ukraine (Eastern Europe) into a Christian family. In 1990, because of religious persecution his father, mother and six brothers moved to the United States to seek a better life for their family.
At the age of 11, while visiting a house church in a small Ukrainian town with his father, he received a call into ministry. His recollection: "I was a handful for my parents and a little trouble maker. But this old Christian woman told me what I was doing and who I was hanging out with. She then told me many things about the ministry where God was going to take me. She had never seen me before, and has never seen me since." After that unusual experience Alex forgot about that prophesy until 13 years later while visiting a small church where the call of God was repeated. Pastor Alex started his ministry at the age of 12 without knowing it at that time by playing the piano for 10 years at First Slavic Church. "Playing piano made me go to church every Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and Sunday night." But his own decision to give his life to God came after he studied the bible for himself at the age of 19. A short while after, he was asked to help with youth ministry and after two years was appointed to be a youth leader. On May 13, 2000, Alex and his beautiful wife Tanya were married in Minneapolis, Minnesota and now have been happily married for seven years. They have two great children; Alex Jr. who is three years old and Abigail who is two. Email: Phone: 605.360.6015 |
Tanya Klimchuk, Senior Pastor
|
Tanya was born and raised in a God-fearing family who lived in a town called Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. In August of 1997, at the age of 14, she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her parents, younger sister, brother, and grandparents. She then started to seek God, and received Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. Since then she was active in her church as a singer and Sunday school teacher.
A few years later, she met Alex, and her life radically changed. Tanya got married at a very young age, but had no idea what God had in store for her. "I always wanted to marry a Pastor, and be used by God to help people, but I could not imagine this." At the end of 2003, Tanya and Alex took God's Word by faith and founded New Life Church. "It takes more than words to live by faith. It was scary. And it is still scary sometimes now, but it was the best thing we could ever do." Tanya loves music; she serves at New Life as a worship leader. She also preaches and ministers to young women. During the week, she stays home to take care of her energetic, "just like his daddy", son, Alex Jr, and precious daughter, Abigail. "She likes to refer to herself as a flower." Someday, Tanya wants to go to Africa and China. For now, her biggest desire is for the people of Sioux Falls to come to Christ, and live for Him. Email: Phone: 605.728.9334 |
